2015 New York City Marathon! Went really well considering I had to abandon training entirely since late August/early September. Awesome view from the bridge leaving Staten Island and the Brooklyn crowd was probably the best out of all the crowd all day. It's unbelievable how encouraging everyone was all day, everywhere, not just Brooklyn. The Queensboro Bridge was particularly brutal, both uphill and downhill. I'm pretty sure most folks' performances went downhill after the bridge as well. Central Park East, getting to the park itself was a heartbreak hill a bit as well. There's a great downhill after we enter the park, but not easy to take advantage of it at that point. Was pretty much a zombie after that point, but gotta keep moving and finish. Overall, just ecstatic that it went well. I went from expecting something like 4:30 to just following my corral to potentially 3:50, but ended up nicely in between. Hopefully I'll check off a sub-4 marathon at some point when I've time to get proper training done. Watch where I was and how elevated I was at .
